Linden has over 20 years of environmental and corporate social responsibility experience, including corporate strategy and policy development; identification of corporate environmental data measuring and monitoring systems; development of appropriate performance metrics; development of carbon management strategies; preparing tailored environmental management systems, environmental impact assessment and preparing environmental and Corporate Social Responsibility reports.
Linden joined Etihad Airways at the beginning of 2009 with responsibility for developing an overall strategy for environmental management for the airline. In particular she is ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, such as the EU emissions trading scheme, developing programmes for key areas such as emissions and waste management and for developing a strong culture of environmental awareness throughout the organization.
Prior to joining the Linden worked as the Environmental Manager of Cathay Pacific Airways from 2003 until 2008. During this time she led a drive towards improved awareness of environmental concerns and corporate responsibility. She developed the climate change strategy and the formation of a long-term action group in this respect. Linden also managed the development and implementation of the ‘Fly greener’ carbon offset programme for Cathay Pacific and Dragonair.
Linden represents Etihad Airways on the Environmental Committee of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Environmental Policy Group of the Arab Air Carriers Association (AACO). She also co-Chairs the Waste Management Task Force of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group.
